About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the ruminant and dairy business by selling directly to consumers or business purchasers, or indirectly through sales channels
Conduct face-to-face and remote sales with new and existing customers
Evaluate customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions
Identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships
Conduct market research and pricing, sales, and merchandising activities with guidance
Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends
Protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers
Disseminate favorable information about the organization and its products and services
Achieve sales goals and maintain the expense budget
Solve moderately complex issues independently and escalate more complex issues
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience in sales, business development or related field
Experience in the ruminant, dairy industry, feed, animal health or animal nutrition
Able and willing to travel up to 75%
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Preferred: Minimum of five years of sales experience in animal nutrition, feed, animal health, additives, supplements
Preferred: Experience with technical sales and ability to provide technical support to dairies, nutritionists, and veterinarians
