About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build the data foundation, frameworks, standards, and platforms needed to scale data and analytics engineering solutions
  • Lead product managers, solution architects, managers, data engineers, and database administrators
  • Define, design, and deliver EDL/EDW, enterprise database, cloud platform, DevOps, CI/CD, QA automation, and ML Ops solutions
  • Provide scalable, reliable, and real-time data for customer and associate experiences
  • Conduct strategic planning, stakeholder management, and roadmap and vision definition
  • Lead large teams of FTEs and contractors and oversee 24x7 data and analytics operations
  • Produce documentation and presentations for stakeholders and leadership
  • Lead data training sessions
  • Partner with third-party vendors on data-sharing agreements and manage consulting partners
  • Set team direction, prioritize objectives, and evaluate recommendations based on ROI, implementation plans, scalability, and alternatives
  • Ensure 24x7 operations and meet SLAs for data, analytics, and reporting workloads
  • Manage and optimize Azure spending for databases, data, and analytics workloads
  • Communicate critical outages and present the technology vision to leadership
  • Recruit, retain, mentor, and develop associates and future leaders
  • Formulate EDL/EDW and data and analytics platform technology strategies
  • Direct development of data engineering, cloud automation, Data DevOps, ML Ops, and QA standards, procedures, and processes
  • Perform other duties as needed to meet business needs and support company values

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Technology leadership
  • 7+ years managing direct reports, architecting, building, and deploying data engineering solutions and platforms
  • Extensive experience with data and analytics technologies, ETL, big data processing, reporting, database scaling and performance optimization, and CI/CD solutions/methodology
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing, migrating, and building new data solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake/Databricks
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum ways of working and delivering high-quality end solutions to stakeholders
  • Experience leading large teams of FTEs and contractors and running data and analytics operations 24x7
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
