About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead CSS operations and maintenance of solar facilities in the region
- Ensure safe and timely completion of all service obligations within the portfolio
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical expertise to 6–10 field technicians
- Provide routine feedback to direct reports
- Conduct and document monthly training, skills verification, and QA/QC
- Oversee service obligations and on-time deliverables
- Coordinate emergency response and ensure 365-day coverage
- Participate in a monthly on-call rotation
- Create, schedule, assign, review, and approve daily work orders
- Plan annual preventative maintenance, including electrical and vegetation maintenance
- Prepare technicians with tools, materials, training, and skills for daily tasks
- Remotely guide troubleshooting and repair work
- Be available for technician phone calls 7 days a week except during PTO
- Direct and dispatch subcontractors
- Manage company tools, resources, and business unit budget
- Assist with technician hiring and resource allocation
- Administer and review skills assessments
- Order and account for parts and equipment; coordinate RMA processes
- Provide prompt email acknowledgement and follow-up
- Review and approve personnel hours weekly, including temporary labor
- Maintain technical expertise in solar O&M best practices and implementation of new practices
- Supervise up to 10 employees and subcontractors
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years of experience in utility solar PV
- 3 years of service or project-oriented management experience
- Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910.269 and NFPA 70E
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Team oriented attitude
- Prioritizes safety daily and actively participates in and leads site safety meetings
- General computer, network, and technology proficiency
- Proficiency reading technical specification documents, site plans, and electrical schematics
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to work in weather, extreme heat or cold, and around electrical hazards
