About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct financial review and analysis for funeral home locations during monthly close
Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks
Work with Corporate and Field Personnel to obtain information and explain financial analysis
Compile journal entries with adequate supporting documentation
Work with field location processors and Managing Partners to resolve issues and answer questions during month-end and throughout the month
Review physical inventory counts against ledger reconciliations and help locations resolve issues and improve processes
Complete assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
Post approved journals to the general ledger
Identify, propose, and implement process improvements and procedure enhancements
Ensure internal controls are followed for assigned tasks
Assist with special projects and testing system upgrades or accounting process enhancements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
3+ years of experience in a general ledger capacity
Strong Excel skills required
Experience with an automated ledger application such as Microsoft Dynamics
Experience with Oracle / Hyperion Essbase and/or OneStream is a plus
Ability to work Monday through Thursday in the office and Friday from home
