About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in startup and commissioning of new units at state-of-the-art data center facilities
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Execute regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
- Review and interpret regulatory requirements and technical documents, including blueprints and diagrams
- Cultivate strong customer relationships
- Escalate issues promptly for resolution when necessary
- Adhere to licensing requirements and operate equipment safely
- Recognize HVAC-related hazards, complete safety training, and implement effective safety measures
- Work independently and collaboratively while leading teams and making on-the-job decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Have a EPA Universal
- 5+ years working experience in the HVAC Industry
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing high-capacity chillers (300+ tons)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat, climb ladders, and work on rooftops for extended periods
- OSHA 30 Certification valued, but not required
- Experience with Carrier, Trane and Diken air-cooled and water-cooled centrifugal chillers valued, but not required
- Basic understanding of building automation controls (BOMAC) valued, but not required
- Experience with data centers valued, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills valued, but not required
- Knowledge of ServiceMax valued, but not required
- Strong working knowledge of 19XR, 30CF, and CDU chillers valued, but not required
- Knowledge of air-side systems (constant volume, VAV) valued, but not required
- Knowledge of water-side systems (hot water, chilled water, condenser water) valued, but not required
