About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and own multi-year global category strategies across Energy, Utilities, and Facilities
  • Align sourcing priorities with enterprise cost, risk, and sustainability objectives
  • Own category productivity and savings targets, budgets, and performance reporting to senior leadership and steering committees
  • Manage approximately $200M in annual global Utilities spend
  • Monitor electricity, natural gas, and fuel markets
  • Develop layered purchasing and hedging strategies to manage price volatility and supply risk
  • Oversee utility billing and spend visibility
  • Partner with site teams on energy-efficiency and demand-management initiatives
  • Lead global sourcing, RFx events, and commercial negotiations for energy, utilities, and facilities goods and services
  • Develop supplier segmentation and consolidation strategies
  • Strengthen contract compliance and establish KPIs, SLAs, supplier governance, and change-control processes
  • Lead renewable energy and self-generation sourcing opportunities, including power purchase agreements, on-site solar, and energy attribute certificates
  • Monitor applicable regulatory requirements across geographies
  • Own category-level ESG data, supplier scorecards, and reporting inputs supporting corporate sustainability disclosures
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of 4–6 category and sourcing professionals
  • Build partnerships with executive stakeholders and manage strategic supplier relationships and performance reviews
  • Advance procurement maturity and escalate material commercial, operational, and supply risks to global procurement leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or category management
  • Experience leading large-scale indirect procurement categories and relevant Energy, Utilities, Facilities, or closely related spend areas
  • 5+ years of experience leading global or cross-functional/matrixed teams, including geographically dispersed professionals
  • Experience driving change across regions
  • Proven experience developing and executing category strategies
  • Experience leading RFx processes and global supplier negotiations
  • Demonstrated measurable savings and total cost of ownership reductions
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders and manage global supplier relationships
  • Working knowledge of energy procurement models, applicable regulatory requirements, and ESG/sustainability reporting
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%, domestically and internationally
