About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of advanced building automation systems and HVAC control solutions
- Design and program advanced building automation systems, including site-specific configuration and control algorithms
- Resolve design issues and make recommendations to management
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
- Comply with project requirements and company and client standards
- Create and document clear design documentation for project teams
- Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems
- Test programs and interfaces before commissioning
- Provide technical support to sales representatives
- Support functional testing of complex building systems
- Advise the team on design and programming standards, components, and practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience designing HVAC control systems or building automation systems, OR college diploma, technical certificate, or trade school diploma with 8+ years of experience, OR high school diploma with 10+ years of experience
- Fluent in French and English, both verbally and in writing
- Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada without restriction
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Graduate degree in an engineering- or construction-related discipline (an asset)
- Proficiency with building automation software and related engineering tools (an asset)
- Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2 protocols (an asset)
- Understanding of enterprise IP networks (an asset)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming software (an asset)
- Proficiency in writing sequences of operation and creating schematic representations of systems (an asset)
- Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment more than 8 feet above the ground and lift loads of up to 50 lb (an asset)
