About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and maintain mobile features across Residential mobile applications on iOS and Android
  • Lead technical delivery for complex React Native and TypeScript-based mobile work in a shared-codebase environment
  • Build and support integrations with REST APIs, GraphQL services, authentication systems, and backend-for-frontend or gateway layers
  • Contribute to backend-facing work, including API contract design, auth/session behavior, payload handling, and service-integration troubleshooting
  • Improve app stability, performance, responsiveness, and release quality across iOS and Android
  • Help define mobile architecture, state management, secure local storage, sync behavior, and maintainable component patterns
  • Troubleshoot production issues across mobile, API, authentication, and cloud-service boundaries
  • Contribute to CI/CD, release-readiness, app-store delivery, and secure engineering practices
  • Partner with cloud engineering, product, UX, QA, and support teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Hard Science (Physical, Life, or Applied Science)
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 4+ years building and shipping production mobile applications across both iOS and Android
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with React Native and TypeScript
  • 2+ years integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, or comparable service-based backends
  • 2+ years working with authentication, authorization, token lifecycle management, and secure session handling in production applications
  • 2+ years building, supporting, or troubleshooting backend or cloud services in AWS or a comparable cloud environment
  • 3+ years debugging issues across app, API, and cloud-service boundaries
  • 2+ years working with modern CI/CD, code review, testing, and release workflows for mobile delivery
  • Ability to collaborate effectively during U.S. Eastern Time business hours
  • Experience with connected-home, IoT, smart device, or subscription-based consumer applications
  • Experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and TypeScript for API or service-layer development
  • Experience with API gateways, backend-for-frontend patterns, or identity-provider integrations
  • Experience with secure local storage patterns such as Keychain, MMKV, SecureStore, AsyncStorage, or comparable approaches
  • Experience with state-management and data-fetching patterns such as Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, or similar approaches
  • Experience with mobile observability, crash analysis, and production diagnostics using tools such as Crashlytics, LogRocket, or similar platforms
  • Experience with native integrations such as BLE, biometrics, camera or QR flows, OEM SDKs, or React Native native modules
  • Familiarity with AWS-backed platforms, cloud debugging, and backend operational concepts
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Kiro, or similar tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and delivery
