About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for owner-direct and construction-based projects, covering hardware, software, and labor
- Analyze control schematics and bid documents to define project scope and eliminate risk
- Create detailed scope letters and proposals with value-engineered options
- Solicit and qualify pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Partner with Sales leadership and Operations to align pricing strategies with market conditions and business objectives
- Provide accurate documentation and participate in turnover meetings
- Mentor junior team members
- Optimize estimating workflows
- Serve as the primary bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in Building Automation (BAS), HVAC, or Controls
- 3+ years of direct estimating experience within the Building Automation (BAS), HVAC, or Controls industry
- Skilled in modern estimating software and CRM tools
- Ability to present ideas and strategies clearly to leadership and diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
