About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure proper functioning of all network-based security controls across Carrier
Participate on a network/system operations team to deploy, maintain, and operate Carrier’s security tool stack
Develop operational rigor through policies, runbooks, change control, and 24 x 7 x 365 tool-stack availability and service delivery
Build and maintain relationships with Security, IT, Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Cyber, Architecture, Engineering, audit, and external partners
Select, implement, and support network security platforms and tools
Create an internal service catalogue documenting control attributes, user experience, SLAs, and downstream impacts
Document, review, satisfy, and automate audit controls with internal and external audit teams
Support network security initiatives using network-centric and solution-specific expertise
Develop a multifunctional knowledge-management program to train new hires on Carrier environments and tools
Develop auditable processes and artifacts for continuity of network security operations
Deliver 24 x 7 x 365 global operational capability and ensure security-tool availability and proper functioning
Deploy, configure, patch, operate, and decommission security hardware and software
Plan, engineer, and monitor security arrangements protecting network systems
Focus on firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS security, outbound web proxy, email security, packet capture, flow analysis, RADIUS, 802.1x, and NAC
Harden and secure systems and networks

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma / GED
5+ years technical experience in network operations, including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and operation of switches, routers, gateways, DNS servers, VPN concentrators, etc.
5+ years technical experience with firewalls, IDS, IPS, web proxies, email security systems, packet capture, flow analyzers, firewall rule analyzers, etc.
5+ years experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, and/or Next Generation Firewalls
2+ years experience with Zscaler Security Products, including Zscaler Internet Access and Zscaler Private Access
Availability to participate in a 24 x 7 x 365 global network security operations capability, including maintaining on-call coverage of emergency issues
Strong written and oral communications skills
Availability to participate in hiring and training staff, policy and procedure development, process and change-control maturation, key artifact development, and auditor engagement with limited supervision
Demonstrated experience determining technologies and processes that improve the overall security ecosystem
Experience using industry-standard analysis criteria to test the security level of a system or network
Experience with Meraki MX security appliances
Experience with design and engineering of security controls
Experience with data center hardware installation and maintenance
Current CISSP or other industry-standard information security certification desired
