About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary customer-facing representative, embodying and promoting the Carrier brand
  • Lead the hiring process for Data Center technicians
  • Oversee onboarding of new technicians, including safety orientation, training procedures, and provisioning of devices and equipment
  • Serve as the union liaison between Carrier and union representatives
  • Conduct job site safety inspections and organize quarterly safety meetings
  • Interact with the master scheduler to ensure technician staffing needs are met for each project
  • Manage requests for tools, PPE, vehicles, and uniforms for field teams
  • Maintain fleet management and vehicle availability
  • Approve daily timesheets and travel requests for Data Center technicians
  • Travel to Data Center sites to oversee operations and support field teams
  • Forecast, monitor, and document financial performance against plan
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and resolve team issues
  • Optimize manpower, standard time, equipment, and energy usage to complete open work
  • Escalate critical or complex issues impacting the business
  • Manage the team according to established programs and objectives
  • Implement, monitor, and manage work quality
  • Respond to key customer complaints, conduct satisfaction investigations, and establish improvement plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and/or in the service industry
  • 3+ years’ experience managing and/or training field service teams, including union technicians, with a focus on performance and efficiency
  • Ability to travel
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Preferred: Expertise in startup and commissioning of industrial HVAC systems and understanding of data center reliability standards
  • Preferred: Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including diagnostics, controls, and maintenance
  • Preferred: Familiarity with safety standards, building codes, and compliance requirements
  • Preferred: Proven ability to build customer relationships and resolve issues effectively
  • Preferred: Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Office, and dispatch tools
  • Preferred: Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Preferred: Clear and confident communicator with all organizational levels
  • Preferred: Flexible and hands-on, comfortable in both office and field environments
