About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop automation strategies and testing solutions for the Dealer Inspire product
Evaluate software functionality and design and execute test cases exercising code under development
Test code as it is being developed
Automate tests and execute functional, integration, system-wide, regression, security, and performance tests
Establish processes, practices, and tools for software testing and automation
Finalize and document test practices and educate project teams
Develop and implement automated testing strategies, including regression suites for new and existing production code
Design and execute automation scripts across functional, integration, and performance tests
Measure test coverage and metrics and communicate and report results
Build dedicated software test and automation functions with partners and engineers throughout the development lifecycle
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to execute tests and analyze test results and coverage
Drive and communicate adoption of software testing best practices through the SDLC
Run and evolve test programs and software testing systems
Mentor and lead SDETs and coach engineers in test automation and strategy
Influence stakeholders across design, engineering, and technology

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 8+ years experience as a Software Engineer, Software Engineer in Test or related functions
In-depth knowledge in testing web-based applications at the web service and UI layers using Playwright
Experience testing integrations and performance, and building mock services is a plus
Advanced knowledge of debugging code and software development languages and testing tools
Strong attention to detail, debugging code, and software troubleshooting skills
Ability to collect and analyze data and test results to report on results, coverage and conclusions
Excellent mentoring and communication skills, with the ability to guide and train others
Full stack testing experience is a bonus
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, Node, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Rust, and MySQL is a bonus
Experience with job queue/messaging systems is a bonus
Experience leading projects or functioning as a team lead is a bonus
