Key responsibilities & impact

Create architecture, prototypes, and design proposals aligned with product and platform vision
Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration
Define and execute product/platform architecture roadmaps with senior developers, architects, and tech leads
Balance delivery speed, quality, maintainability, and long-term platform health
Break down large initiatives into parallelizable work delivering incremental business value
Champion proposals through design, development, and production implementation
Improve the core product build, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC
Troubleshoot production issues and drive reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response
Maintain technical documentation
Facilitate design discussions across teams
Represent the team with technical and cross-functional stakeholders
Act as a trusted technical leader through collaboration, influence, and shared ownership
Mentor developers through design reviews, joint agentic-AI sessions, and feedback
Share knowledge of technologies and industry best practices
Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud capabilities
Build and operate the AWS AgentCore Gateway layer and hosted capabilities
Develop and maintain a target registry and configuration model for customer MCP servers, including tenant isolation, credential handling, allowlisting, egress control, and failure containment
Build inbound MCP and adjacent protocol surfaces with authentication, scope enforcement, and rate limiting
Build and operate on-premise connectivity with session lifecycle, request correlation, and recovery
Implement session and scope propagation across gateway, targets, and backends
Design and evolve OpenAPI contracts and target runtimes
Implement outbound authorization using IAM/SigV4, OAuth, and credential providers
Maintain versioning of target contracts
Contribute to end-to-end tracing, SLOs, and observability
Mentor developers and contribute to integration-layer technical direction through RFCs and design reviews
Use AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflow
Evaluate, secure, and take ownership of AI-generated output
Identify and lead agentic automation opportunities
Mentor developers on responsible AI-tool use
Establish guardrails for safe AI-tool usage
Build feedback loops improving team use of AI tooling

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated impact beyond a single team
Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, ideally on AWS
Strong software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code quality advocacy
Experience with agentic-AI software development practices
Experience designing and consuming HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL
Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
English high B2
Strong initiative to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality
Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) for LLM agents
Experience building or operating a multi-tenant gateway or API platform
Experience integrating with third-party or untrusted endpoints
Experience with authorization and scope propagation across multi-hop service boundaries
Experience designing and operating persistent-connection or streaming architectures, including session management, recovery, message correlation, timeout/retry semantics, backpressure, idempotency, and graceful degradation
