About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Visit hospitals, health systems and other healthcare partners throughout the service territory
  • Develop relationships with healthcare providers and partners
  • Install, maintain and repair Siemens Healthineers imaging systems and select third-party equipment
  • Learn system intricacies from a senior engineer during the first year
  • Perform service on MR, CT, Cath/Angio, Nuclear Med, fluoro and ultrasound systems
  • Perform periodic maintenance inspections to manufacturers’ specifications
  • Perform initial calibration and certification of newly installed systems
  • Complete documentation for equipment installation, maintenance, service and parts replacement
  • Coordinate with service and sales management to anticipate future service needs
  • Maintain parts inventory according to policy
  • Travel in a company-provided vehicle to health facilities throughout the territory
  • Travel by airplane for occasional training, including some locations outside the United States
  • Work on call at set intervals during non-business hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successful candidates must reside within the Iowa City, IA area
  • Minimum of a two-year degree in electronics (Technical school or Associates Degree) or equivalent work experience
  • Medical imaging industry field service experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient use of hand tools and performance of mechanical tasks
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a relatively unstructured environment in which priorities constantly change
  • Must be able to work with chemicals and high voltage equipment
  • May come into contact with human body fluids or solids on equipment
  • Required to travel and stay overnight as necessary
  • Driver’s license and Fleet Policy adherence required
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a valid passport
