About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own day-to-day accounting processes, including month-end/fiscal close, preparing journal entries, and completing balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain key financial and accounting controls to ensure compliance with internal corporate policies
Analyze complex financial discrepancies and conduct root-cause analysis to resolve them
Escalate critical accounting issues to management as needed
Lead accounting projects and initiatives
Recommend and implement strategies to reduce business costs and streamline workflows
Partner with IT on system changes to ensure accounting policy compliance
Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners across Finance, Tax, Audit, Financial Planning, Merchandise Planning & Allocation, and Supply Chain
Provide accounting guidance and support across departments and management levels
Compile, structure, and analyze financial data to support forecasting models
Develop and enhance operational performance metrics and reporting templates
Support department onboarding and training for new associates on accounting tools and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field is required
1–3 years of professional accounting, corporate finance, or related operational experience is preferred
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic accounting procedures
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data formatting
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Superb interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and various levels of management
Highly detailed, organized, and proactive
