About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own day-to-day accounting processes, including month-end/fiscal close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain key financial and accounting controls for compliance with internal corporate policies
Analyze complex financial discrepancies and conduct root-cause analysis
Resolve discrepancies and escalate critical accounting issues to management as needed
Lead accounting projects and initiatives to reduce business costs and streamline workflows
Partner with IT on system changes to ensure accounting policy compliance
Build collaborative relationships with Finance, Tax, Audit, Financial Planning, Merchandise Planning & Allocation, and Supply Chain
Provide accounting guidance and support across departments and management levels
Compile, structure, and analyze financial data for forecasting models
Develop and enhance operational performance metrics and reporting templates
Support the department by assisting with onboarding and training new associates on accounting tools and processes
Report to the Accounting Manager within the corporate accounting department

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field is required
1–3 years of professional accounting, corporate finance, or related operational experience is preferred
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic accounting procedures
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data formatting
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Superb interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and various levels of management
Highly detailed, organized, and proactive
