About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Address questions and incidents of level one and some level two complexity
  • Service customers using analytical and technical skills for advanced problem resolution
  • Mentor IT Technician Associates by providing instruction and guidance
  • Investigate requests from IT customers across the facility and other facilities
  • Support end user operations and work with remote support groups to implement hardware and software changes
  • Provide support and administration for applications and servers located within the facility
  • Resolve hardware, software, peripheral, and application problems
  • Research and coordinate implementation of approved business partner requests
  • Participate in and lead local and field-wide projects
  • Create and distribute local and field-wide documentation
  • Update incidents accurately and timely, escalate incidents and problems, and assist other IT Associates
  • Manage medium-complexity local projects and lead medium-complexity field-wide project teams
  • Develop task time estimates, monitor progress, and provide reports
  • Identify incident trends and recommend alternative problem-resolution actions
  • Install, customize, implement, and maintain network, PC/LAN equipment, and servers
  • Use Change Control and Problem Management software
  • Communicate with IT teams and vendors to resolve local issues
  • Follow operational standards for reporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting production issues
  • Participate in turnover meetings and update turnover documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical Institute/ Associate Degree in Computer Science / Info Systems, certifications in applied practice or equivalent formal training / work experience
  • Proven work experience within a Network or Computer operations environment
  • Familiarity with IT Support Infrastructure and related hardware
  • Proficient knowledge of Data Center hardware and support Infrastructure
  • Familiarity with standard workstation software used to perform daily duties
  • Proficient knowledge of LAN / WAN concepts and supporting hardware of the Network environment
  • Proficient knowledge of UNIX operating system and respective commands
  • Working knowledge of Data Center environments and related hardware
  • Strong aptitude for logical thinking and analytical processes
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems of high complexity and assist IT Technician Associates
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, customer service-oriented environment
  • Strong partnering and communication skills
  • Familiarity with IT hardware, network equipment, and environmental equipment used in mid-to-large-scale Data Center Operations
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN architecture used to support mid-to-large-scale Data Center Operations
  • Strong knowledge of logistics environments, including sortation systems, scanners, and supporting infrastructure
