About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end operational and financial reporting for Ocean and Drayage freight
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting to track spend, performance, and trends
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for freight spend
- Partner with Transportation stakeholders to explain variances, identify risks, and highlight improvement opportunities
- Support reporting and analysis for Linehaul, Store Delivery, and Pool Point networks
- Assist with ad hoc analysis, operational metrics, and executive-level reporting
- Support month-end financial close, including accruals, journal entries, and GL review
- Participate in periodic financial reviews and variance analysis
- Ensure reporting aligns with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Lead or support budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Develop, monitor, and improve KPIs and performance metrics
- Build, maintain, and enhance operational and financial dashboards
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve reporting accuracy
- Leverage AI tools to provide enhanced insights
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of Finance and/or Accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivots, and models
- SQL experience preferred; willingness to learn required
- Experience with database management, including updating and maintaining databases and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Experience creating and maintaining dashboards and data visualization tools
- Supply Chain or Transportation experience preferred
- Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with ability to see the bigger picture
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Curiosity and desire to understand drivers behind the numbers
- Effective communication and ability to partner with Transportation and cross-functional teams
