About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the day-to-day health and growth of the CBT Nuggets website and Assessments platform
Direct AI coding agents through specification, implementation, review, testing, documentation, pull request, CI, and production verification
Plan, direct, verify, and deliver work with delegated autonomy
Own a backlog and turn product intent into precise written specifications
Read every code diff critically and identify overclaims in agent summaries
Operate repositories, including branch protection, required checks, rebases, attestations, dependency advisories, environment variables, crons, feature flags, and deployments
Keep operator documentation accurate and update it with behavioral changes
Turn lessons into durable rules and retire stale rules
Investigate production incidents using logs, metrics, and databases
Measure before making claims and record dated readings
Create human-facing pages with buttons for decisions and labeling tasks
Collaborate openly with two teammates using shared rules and conventions
Recommend product scope, trade-offs, risk acceptance, spend, contracts, and destructive or irreversible changes to the Product Owner group
Report to the Learning Content Team Lead for day-to-day work and remain accountable to the Product Owner group for shipped work

Requirements

What you’ll need

Five or more years in IT or software, in roles requiring understanding of how production systems are built, deployed, secured, and operated
At least one year directing AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent to ship production software
Two or more years of product ownership or technical product management experience
Demonstrated ability to verify claims against the system and identify when sources are wrong
Fluency with GitHub, pull requests, CI, branch protection, merge conflicts, force-with-lease, a hosting platform such as Vercel, and a relational database such as Postgres
Ability to read SQL and code diffs critically without authoring code
Clear, plain written English
Ability to write rules, specifications, and one-page recommendations for executives
Comfort being accountable for work not personally typed and escalating decisions appropriately
