About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work consultatively with clients and partners to understand business needs and requirements
  • Support sales executives in developing a deep understanding of client requirements
  • Deliver technical presentations and targeted product demonstrations
  • Own product implementation in client environments and coordinate with technical support
  • Lead technical sales activities including discovery, demonstrations, evaluations, POCs, and RFPs
  • Coordinate complex RFP responses, deals, and internal special projects
  • Capture customer needs, requirements, and desired future state
  • Tailor messaging to client requirements and use cases
  • Mentor Solutions Engineering team members and support onboarding
  • Deliver strategic messaging to senior leaders and decision-makers
  • Participate in Sales Enablement initiatives
  • Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of CData’s product portfolio and competitive landscape
  • Identify market trends, use cases, and market opportunities
  • Lead technical responses to RFIs and RFPs
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Technical Support teams
  • Provide product feedback to influence the roadmap
  • Act as the technical customer relationship lead and liaison with technical support
  • Troubleshoot technical issues for customers and prospects
  • Share knowledge across the team and company

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS or BE) in a STEM field
  • 4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced ability to read and write code to solve problems in at least one programming language; Java or C# preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of database systems and SQL
  • Experience delivering technical presentations to senior-level client executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Applicants must be US-based and legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Approximately 10% travel required
