About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide on-site technical support at the Carmarthen or Worcester site 3–5 days per week
  • Travel to other sites for project work, annual leave cover, and support needs
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 operating systems and analyze event logs
  • Provide software support and limited hardware support, including break/fix and fault finding
  • Manage Microsoft Server OS tasks including joiners, leavers, movers, DHCP, DNS, ADDS, and VAMT
  • Archive data to tape using tape library systems
  • Perform antivirus monitoring, network monitoring, storage and capacity management, physical hardware health checks, and auditing
  • Carry out office moves, hardware installations, and basic server maintenance on Lenovo workstations and Dell servers
  • Update administrative records and ticketing systems accurately and promptly
  • Follow SOPs and create process documentation for internal and customer use
  • Support specialist customers and contribute to smooth IT operations across multiple locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Basic to intermediate IT knowledge, with willingness to learn and develop in non-standard environments
  • Previous experience in IT support, field services, or service desk roles is desirable
  • Good understanding of Windows OS, Windows Server, and networking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to prioritize support tickets and manage workload efficiently
  • Familiarity with break/fix processes and hardware troubleshooting
  • Must obtain full security clearance (SC/NPPV)
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and ways of working
  • Based/living within an hour of Worcester or Carmarthen
  • Willingness and ability to manage customer requests independently and with wider team support
  • Willingness to travel across multiple sites
  • Willingness to engage with evolving technology and AI tools
