About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide project management expertise across multiple technology stacks and services
- Manage low- to medium-complexity projects independently or within larger programs
- Balance project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and customer outcomes
- Act as a trusted consultant and project advocate for stakeholders
- Build relationships with CDW engineers, sales, cross-functional teams, customers, and third-party consultants
- Negotiate changes to cost, scope, effort, schedules, and resource commitments
- Gather project information, assess impacts, document mitigation steps, and communicate with teams and clients
- Manage medium- to large-sized projects requiring complex cross-functional collaboration
- Track project profitability, budgets, resources, actuals, planned hours, financials, time, expenses, and invoices
- Validate project scope and estimates; determine whether new Statements of Work or Change Orders are required
- Identify additional service opportunities for sellers
- Ensure Statement of Work deliverables and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle
- Create, monitor, adjust, and communicate project tasks and schedules with engineering and partner resources
- Identify and optimize resources and billable schedules
- Identify, document, track, and resolve project risks and issues
- Manage equipment, software, licensing, outside services procurement, and delivery schedules
- Document outcomes and lessons learned and contribute to PMO process improvements
- Hold project team members accountable for scope and schedule commitments
- Lead teams to meet project success factors and exceed client expectations
- Inspect delegated tasks and coach and mentor Associate Project Managers
- Research and share industry best practices through conferences, training, and professional associations
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including communication plans, schedules, status reports, quality plans, closure summaries, budgets, and risk plans
- Lead and facilitate live and virtual meetings; summarize, assign, and publish follow-up actions
- Adapt communication styles and media to audience needs and communicate complex topics to stakeholders
- Develop and manage detailed schedules and work plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience in project management or four years of CDW Services experience OR 8 years of experience in project management or 8 years of CDW Services experience
- Two or more years of experience leading small to medium scale projects in a professional services organization
- Project management or agile consulting experience advising clients on delivery best practices across multiple technology stacks such as Cloud, Security, and Infrastructure
- Ability to support presales activities and identify new sales opportunities
- Experience participating productively in virtual teams
- Experience project managing projects with several technologies
- Demonstrated accountability for projects and results, fiscal responsibility, and team leadership
- Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project/Office
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions; organize, prioritize, multitask, and apply common sense
- PMP and/or Agile Certification(s), a plus
- Experience using Waterfall and Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban, a plus
