Key responsibilities & impact

Provide project management expertise across multiple technology stacks and services
Independently manage medium- to large-sized projects and complex cross-functional collaboration
Plan, execute, and deliver projects and programs within strict deadlines and budgets
Define workstreams, facilitate estimations, project plans, and work breakdown structures
Serve as a trusted consultant on project delivery, CDW processes, and project management best practices
Maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including C-level executives, customers, sales, engineers, cross-functional teams, and third-party consultants
Identify success criteria, link project outcomes to strategic business initiatives, and manage stakeholder expectations
Negotiate changes to cost, scope, effort, and project risks
Gather project-impact information, document mitigation steps, and communicate with teams and clients
Manage Associate Project Managers or Project Managers during medium- to large-complexity projects
Track profitability, budgets, resources, actuals versus planned hours, invoices, expenses, and financial reporting
Validate project scope and estimates and recommend strategies to minimize change impacts and risks
Ensure Statement of Work deliverables and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle
Establish and manage program and project communication plans, status reports, quality plans, risk plans, and closure summaries
Manage procurement and delivery schedules for equipment, software, licensing, and outside services
Document outcomes and lessons learned and contribute to Services PMO process improvements
Coach and mentor Associate and Project Managers
Research and share industry best practices through conferences, training seminars, and professional associations
Evaluate and refine engagement methodologies, templates, tools, and supporting materials
Lead and facilitate live and virtual meetings and publish follow-up actions
Prepare and deliver difficult or complex information, communicate potential solutions, build consensus, and diffuse uncomfortable situations
Support presales activities and identify opportunities to grow CDW’s portfolio of work

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in business or computer related field and 5 years of experience in project management, or 9 total years of experience in project management
3 or more years of experience leading medium and large-scale projects
Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
Project management or agile consulting experience advising clients on delivery best practices across multiple technology stacks, such as Cloud, Security, and Infrastructure
Ability to support presales activities and identify new sales opportunities
Ability to participate productively in virtual teams
Experience project managing projects with several technologies
Demonstrated ability to take accountability for projects and results, be fiscally responsible, and lead teams to meet project success factors
Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Project/Office
Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
Experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective
Ability to credibly communicate complex topics to stakeholders and anticipate client or project needs
Ability to apply discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information
Curiosity, learner’s mindset, willingness to engage with evolving technology and tools, and readiness to explore and adapt to AI
Bachelor’s degree in business or computer-related field, unless qualifying through the stated 9 years of project management experience
