About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform all stages of the software development life cycle
Self-manage activities on smaller projects and serve as technical lead on small, medium, and large projects
Determine operating requirements, costs, and resource needs for assigned projects with project managers
Co-lead object-oriented analysis and design, including use case analysis, object modeling, and database schema design
Participate in application architecture planning, system partitioning, and framework design
Lead and develop system narratives, storyboards, and user interface prototypes
Lead and develop detailed hardware and software design specifications
Lead and develop system test plans, ensure SQA standards, and validate business goals
Lead and develop project estimates, resource allocations, timelines, and budgets
Develop applications to CDW coding standards and quality requirements
Identify and resolve issues based on business problems
Make technical decisions aligned with product roadmaps and management goals
Coach and mentor junior team members and monitor their progress
Assemble resources to address technical issues
Direct and focus technical project team efforts
Monitor project team progress
Complete projects and tasks according to stakeholder and management commitments
Report project and task status to management
Collaborate with business and project teams to gather requirements and business needs
Step in as a team member throughout the software development process as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years software development experience, or 11 years software development experience
Expertise in developing applications
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Advanced knowledge of product lifecycle and methodology/frameworks
Experience delivering solutions in Agile methodology in a CI/CD environment
Advanced knowledge of object-oriented design and programming techniques
Ability to build rapport and maintain productive cross-departmental and cross-functional working relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership
Strong organizational, planning, and creative problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated success in facilitation and solutions implementation
Proven track record of leading application development projects
Ability to balance competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs while meeting deadlines
Expertise with C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET MVC, RESTful Web Services, and SQL Server
Ability to perform effective code reviews and recommend automated review tools
Expertise in MongoDB, a plus
Expertise in Azure DevOps, a plus
Experience with SOLR and/or Elastic Search, Python, and Spark, a plus
Knowledge of machine learning techniques including clustering, decision tree learning, and logistic regression, a plus
Experience with Linux and Windows platforms, a plus
Working experience with Azure/Kubernetes, a plus
Ability to analyze system performance requirements and lead optimization/tuning, a plus
