About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver successful financial metrics across CDW’s Data & AI portfolio
  • Create and execute business plans for data modernisation, governance and AI adoption
  • Act as the Data & AI sales specialist across data platforms, engineering, governance, quality, analytics and applied AI
  • Identify and execute data-led transformation outcomes with strategic UK customers across private, public and regulated sectors
  • Lead sales engagements from start to finish with aligned account owners
  • Promote and sell CDW’s Data & AI solutions and professional and managed services
  • Engage existing and prospective customers to understand challenges and position tailored solutions
  • Lead data-readiness-for-AI conversations and convert findings into staged commercial roadmaps
  • Scope and sell data discovery, profiling and AI-readiness assessments and drive follow-on programmes
  • Prepare and present proposals, business cases and pitches, including ROI and value cases
  • Handle objections, negotiate and close sales while achieving targets and customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain Data & AI pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities in CRM
  • Develop relationships with Microsoft and other strategic Data & AI vendors to generate co-sell pipeline and funding opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Solution Architects, presales, delivery, Legal and Enablement teams
  • Propose end-to-end solutions spanning data ingestion, quality, governance and AI consumption
  • Ensure solutions address UK data protection, sovereignty, residency and sector regulatory requirements
  • Support bid teams with subject matter expertise, public sector frameworks and tender responses
  • Deliver customer workshops, envisioning sessions, webinars and events
  • Stay current with Data & AI trends and contribute to CDW’s UK propositions and service packages

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrable knowledge of modern data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, data lakehouse/warehouse, data engineering, integration and Power BI
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality and data management, including cataloguing, lineage, master data, classification, sensitivity labelling and information lifecycle
  • Understanding of AI-ready data estates, including content quality and structure, metadata, permissions, oversharing risk, unstructured data preparation and retrieval patterns
  • Knowledge of applied AI, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio/agents, Azure AI, OpenAI services and machine learning use cases
  • Working knowledge of UK data and AI regulation, including UK GDPR, the Data (Use and Access) Act, ICO expectations, data residency and sovereignty, FCA, NHS DSPT, ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act where applicable
  • Knowledge of UK public sector routes to market and procurement frameworks, including G-Cloud and Crown Commercial Service agreements
  • Knowledge of structured sales processes, customer personas and consumption/annuity commercial models
  • Demonstrable experience delivering successful sales growth and running structured sales cycles from start to finish
  • Experience selling data and/or AI services in the UK market, including assessment-led engagements that expand into transformation programmes
  • Experience contributing to sales proposals, bid responses and customer meetings
  • Experience building relationships with customers, vendors and partner field teams, including Microsoft or equivalent
  • Experience working with IT and data strategic decision makers up to board level
  • Experience translating technical data concepts into business outcomes and commercial value
  • Sales pipeline-building and closing skills
  • Consultative discovery, proposal writing, pitch delivery and business-case development skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain relevant vendor certifications and accreditations
