About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement digital design strategies and execution to drive growth, expansion, and innovation of Cedars-Sinai’s digital capabilities and customer experience
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test, and deliver consumer-facing digital products and services
  • Translate business objectives and user goals into solutions based on user feedback
  • Identify opportunities and provide feedback loops to assess impacts and pivot approaches
  • Advise and support organizational teams on creative direction for mobile apps, interactive web experiences, physical products, and services
  • Direct the digital design cohort in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing creative work
  • Lead and champion human-centered design, design research/synthesis, and strategic innovation practices
  • Design and guide quantitative and qualitative research and contextual design investigations
  • Create personas, user journeys, mock-ups, service blueprints, stories, and opportunities from research insights
  • Lead or support convergent and divergent design processes for physical and digital services/products with product, business strategy, and engineering collaborators
  • Design, plan, and facilitate co-design and design thinking workshops
  • Foster design best practices and innovative ways of working across design and operational/project/product teams
  • Develop tools, processes, and ways of working supporting patient/consumer-first design
  • Provide guidance and direction across projects and participate in execution when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in human computer interaction, experience design, service design, industrial design, graphic design, data science, cognitive science, psychology, or another relevant major required
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a User Experience Research role, Strategic Design role, or relevant professional experience required
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience with design, design strategy or innovation management, design thinking & execution with a deep understanding of front-end innovation practices required
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
