About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Follow CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA regulations and wear proper PPE
  • Maintain, repair, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild industrial equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Carry out arc/gas welding, layout, pipefitting, and millwright tasks
  • Fabricate custom parts according to equipment specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems
  • Replace bearings and align machinery
  • Inspect power transmission systems
  • Repair electrical circuits and components
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Identify and report hazardous or substandard conditions
  • Mentor less experienced team members
  • Complete inspections, work orders, audits, and maintenance reports
  • Respond to emergency repairs and participate in major overhaul outages
  • Support additional maintenance needs as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • MSHA certification required, or must obtain within a reasonable time frame
  • 3 to 6 years of mechanical, welding, or maintenance experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals and safety documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly
  • Ability to pass a physical exam including back X-ray, vision, hearing, functional capability, respiratory fit, and drug/alcohol screening
  • Associate degree, trade certification, military experience, or journeyman credentials preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish skills a plus
