About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the sales and account management process for Clinical Insight Services
- Develop and cultivate client relationships with assigned pharmaceutical and biotech partner accounts
- Identify opportunities, qualify leads, develop proposals, and negotiate contracts
- Prepare presentations and proposals for new business development
- Write lead proposals, coordinate contracting, present to clients, and outline pricing options
- Communicate client needs and expectations across the organization to enhance Clinical Insight Solutions
- Coordinate meeting agendas and presentation materials for client meetings
- Advocate for clients and ensure integrity, reliability, and credibility of program deliverables and analytic capabilities
- Analyze market and customer dynamics and develop growth strategies
- Collaborate with Clinical Insights, Commercial Analytics Sales, Client Service, Data Science, and GPO Corporate Accounts teams
- Expand contact bases through business development and cold calling
- Ensure compliance with the PhRMA code, FDA regulations, and corporate ethical policies
- Coordinate with other Cencora business unit sales leads to cross-sell across customer organizations
- Document sales opportunities and account interactions
- Report on sales pipeline status, timelines, and project execution
- Provide capabilities overviews and customized solution recommendations to customer functional areas
- Travel to and participate in industry conferences, client meetings, GPO membership meetings, and internal meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. required; M.B.A. or advanced degree preferred
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible sales experience
- Professional consultative sales experience in market research, medical affairs services, and/or analytics/data solutions targeting pharmaceutical and biotech industry partners
- Proven ability to manage complex sales processes and independently negotiate contracts
- Strong knowledge of the clinical oncology therapeutic market
- Thorough knowledge of oncology marketplace dynamics and pharmaceutical drug development and medical affairs provider research and education trends
- Understanding of market access, market research, medical affairs, and HEOR/RWE within biopharmaceutical companies
- Working knowledge of strategic and consultative marketing techniques
- Strong business planning, analytical, and conceptual skills
- Ability to develop customized solutions and solve problems creatively
- Ability to direct matrix team activities, including co-selling, coaching, training, guiding, developing, and managing
- Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive market information
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills for large and small groups, in-person and online
- Strong oral and written communication and active listening skills
- Working knowledge of company systems and programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Salesforce CRM
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 40%, including limited weekends
