About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer IM, SC, and IV medications in home or specialty clinic settings
  • Support and monitor IV infusion treatments in clinic and/or homecare settings
  • Monitor post-injection and infusion treatments; chart and report activities according to protocols and nursing documentation standards
  • Provide patient education individually or in groups
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to training and policies
  • Coordinate with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments regarding appointments, treatments, and information
  • Perform monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other assigned administrative duties
  • Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions
  • Participate in specialized client-related training
  • Consult with physicians and pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and product-specific program implementation
  • Travel within the designated IBU and surrounding IBUs
  • Follow nursing, clinic, health and safety, and company procedures
  • Complete ongoing and annual education training
  • Maintain professional nursing standards and perform related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, clinical practice, health sciences, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Professional license or registration in nursing in the applicable jurisdiction of practice required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Experience with IV therapy is an asset
  • Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
  • Current registration with provincial licensing body
  • CPR certificate
  • Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
  • ACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets
  • Knowledge of cell phones for making and confirming appointments/assignments and fax machines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team
  • Ability to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
  • Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in both a team and independent setting
  • Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage
  • Ability to serve unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams
