About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary point of contact for ambulatory pharmacy access and affordability services
- Navigate prescription and infusion therapy access and affordability barriers
- Process prior authorizations and secure patient assistance
- Route prescriptions to appropriate pharmacies
- Coordinate communication among patients, providers, staff, pharmacies, and payers
- Provide retail pharmacy prescription and infusion therapy access expertise
- Identify process improvements to improve patient access and prescription internalization
- Maintain stakeholder communication and documentation in electronic health records, pharmacy dispensing systems, and other specified systems
- Educate providers, clinic staff, and patients on prescription fulfillment through the client health system pharmacy
- Coordinate prescription delivery with the internal client pharmacy
- Track activities and report KPIs for continuous quality improvement and program performance
- Participate in client and clinic meetings, contributing content and leading discussions as needed
- Support clinics during operating hours and work extended hours when needed
- Provide backup coverage for assigned resources
- Work in clinics and from an approved remote location as client needs dictate
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of retail pharmacy technician experience
- Active pharmacy technician licensure/certification in the corresponding state
- Experience with prior authorizations and copay assistance programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to quickly learn pharmacy dispensing software, electronic health records, and other systems
- High level of organization
- High-quality communication skills
- Lead technician or other leadership experience is a plus, not required
