About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage strategic relationships with external generic pharmaceutical injectable and biosimilar manufacturers
- Create mutual value for Cencora and manufacturers
- Lead supplier contract negotiations and formulate sourcing strategies
- Serve as liaison between external manufacturing partners and internal cross-functional teams
- Identify value creation opportunities aligned with commercialization and sourcing partners
- Lead manufacturer business reviews and resolve commercial challenges
- Represent Cencora in executive-level engagements
- Negotiate distribution service contracts on behalf of Cencora Global Procurement
- Redline contracts and consolidate stakeholder feedback
- Establish relationships with new and emerging manufacturers
- Enhance strategic sourcing relationships with mature manufacturers
- Manage customer expectations and Cencora-related programs
- Manage trade affairs, new product and biosimilar launches, supply disruptions, inventory levels, and supplier disputes
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Replenishment Operations, and Supply Chain Management
- Represent Cencora favorably with suppliers and advocate for company interests
- Generate profit-enhancing deals, rebates, and promotional activities
- Learn and promote sourcing programs that increase value for Cencora and customers
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Broad experience in business administration, accountancy or finance, sales, marketing, or similar vocations
- Four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of seven (7) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience
- Outstanding knowledge of the pharmaceutical wholesale/distribution segment
- Familiarity with generic injectables and biosimilars
- Relationships within the supplier base
- Understanding of purchasing models and financials
- Familiarity with filing pathways to obtain regulatory approval and FDA audits
- Knowledge of Cencora’s distribution network and Specialty GPOs
- Financial and analytical skills for deal evaluation and contract negotiations
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management, and/or inventory management principles and methodologies
- Relationship management and contract management capabilities
- Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
