  • Manage daily pharmacy operations for intake, review, verification, dispensing, and distribution of high-cost advanced therapies
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and maintain compliance with state boards of pharmacy, DEA, NABP, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain pharmacy licenses, permits, registrations, and records
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections, accreditation reviews, audits, and corrective actions
  • Develop and enforce pharmacy operational and clinical policies and procedures
  • Monitor workflow, prescription volume, turnaround times, staffing coverage, service levels, and quality metrics
  • Achieve pharmacy service, quality, productivity, financial, and compliance goals
  • Participate in fiscal management, budget planning, business reviews, and month-end processes
  • Partner with operations, patient support, reimbursement, supply chain, quality, compliance, legal, and technology teams
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to safety, efficiency, consistency, and customer experience
  • Oversee inventory, medication storage, replenishment, controlled substances, quality assurance, medication security, and record retention
  • Ensure staff licensure, training, competency, and documentation
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective action
  • Lead departmental meetings, staff communications, and in-service training
  • Provide clinical oversight, pharmacist consultation, prescription verification support, patient counseling escalation, and complex issue resolution
  • Counsel patients and caregivers regarding medications, dosage, administration, storage, adherence, adverse effects, and interactions
  • Coordinate care with prescribers, care teams, payers, and internal support functions
  • Resolve escalated patient, provider, payer, and client concerns
  • Advise leadership on operational strategy, resource planning, workflow design, compliance risk, and service enhancements
  • Implement new programs, systems, technologies, and operational initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, healthcare administration, business administration, operations management, or a related field
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Texas
  • Must be eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in the state of employment
  • Ability to obtain additional pharmacist licensure and/or non-resident PIC licensure in other jurisdictions as required
  • At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible pharmacy experience
  • At least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
  • Knowledge of pharmacy licensure, inspection readiness, audit response, and accreditation requirements
  • Knowledge of pharmacy workflow systems, dispensing technology, automation, and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Strong leadership, people management, decision-making, critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time, volume, and service-level constraints
  • Ability to identify operational risk and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Familiarity with complex medication therapies, reimbursement-sensitive dispensing environments, and high-touch service models
  • General knowledge of business and finance processes, including interpreting operational and financial reports
