About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct security risk assessments across ICT systems and applications
  • Assess Azure Cloud, legacy ICT, AI technologies and complex systems from a cyber security perspective
  • Develop and review security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and SSP Annexes
  • Provide security guidance on application and system designs in line with the PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight
  • Identify security risks, provide recommendations and strengthen the organisation’s security posture
  • Communicate cyber risks and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Prepare and present security advice and briefings to senior and executive-level audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure solutions and maintain compliance with Australian Government security standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years’ experience conducting cyber security risk assessments within a government environment
  • Strong experience across Azure Cloud, legacy ICT, AI technologies and complex systems
  • Current knowledge of the PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight
  • Strong understanding of networking infrastructure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and delivering executive-level briefings
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and ability to manage competing priorities with limited supervision
  • Ability to build productive relationships and work collaboratively across technical and business teams
  • Australian Government security experience and ability to obtain NV1 clearance
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) advantageous
  • Valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check required
