About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic leadership for administrative operations and support services across all agency locations
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, systems, and initiatives
  • Evaluate organizational structures, workflows, and business processes and recommend improvements
  • Oversee administrative functions, facilities operations, records management, office support services, and related operational programs
  • Direct facility planning and management, including space utilization, workplace strategy, relocations, renovations, expansion projects, and vendor partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agency policies, and risk management standards
  • Oversee records management and retention programs
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics and develop recommendations for executive decision-making
  • Develop, administer, and monitor departmental budgets and resources
  • Represent the administrative function in executive-level discussions and collaborate on agency-wide initiatives
  • May oversee public information, organizational communications, branding, marketing materials, and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide leadership and oversight to managers, supervisors, and administrative support teams across multiple locations
  • Develop leadership capacity through coaching, mentoring, professional development, and succession planning
  • Establish performance expectations, goals, and accountability measures
  • Oversee performance management, employee development, corrective action, and recognition programs
  • Evaluate workforce needs, staffing models, workload distribution, and resource allocation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, communications, management, or a closely related field
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management and administrative leadership experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a senior leadership role with responsibility for leading managers and/or supervisors
  • Experience overseeing administrative operations, facilities management, organizational operations, records management, business services, public administration, communications, or related support services
  • Experience developing and implementing organizational strategies
  • Experience leading operational improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing multiple priorities across diverse functions or locations
  • Experience aligning departmental objectives with organizational goals
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with executive leadership, community partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of facilities operations, records retention and management practices, budget administration, vendor management, and organizational effectiveness principles
  • Must have a valid CA driver's license, reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance
  • Ability to travel within CVRC's six-county-wide region as assigned or required
  • Master's degree and PIO training, accreditation, certification, or related communications credentials are preferred
