Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver specialist accounting advice to clients across a range of areas
Add value to clients’ commercial objectives
Deliver high-quality work while managing project economics and risk
Deliver projects involving technical accounting, GAAP conversions, complex financial statements, mergers and acquisitions, reporting accountant engagements, business combinations, new standards implementation, group restructurings and training
Work with cross-functional teams including Transaction Services, Valuations and Tax
Manage project teams and ensure work is completed with appropriate resources
Manage, motivate and coach team members
Provide feedback through regular communication and timely appraisals
Lead departmental and office meetings
Control projects against timescales, budgets and risk management procedures
Support technical development and team training initiatives
Assist senior management in leading the wider team and achieving FAAS commercial objectives

What you’ll need

Professional qualification: ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA
Post-qualification experience
Confidence managing a large portfolio of audit clients
Experience managing a medium to large portfolio of audit clients or projects
Technical accounting experience and knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
US GAAP and Companies Act experience and knowledge favourable
Experience leading and developing client relationships
Experience leading teams and project management
Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
Ability to work confidently with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
