About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the operational performance of multiple branch locations within a Super District
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to Branch Managers
- Ensure consistent execution of safety, operational efficiency, customer service, inventory management, and financial performance standards
- Translate corporate operational strategy into executable regional plans
- Build a high-performing leadership team
- Partner with Super District Sales Leadership, Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources
- Lead and develop Branch Managers and operational teams
- Establish performance expectations and operational standards across locations
- Drive accountability through performance reviews and operational metrics
- Drive regional revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, productivity, inventory management, and working capital optimization
- Monitor branch KPIs, including inventory turns, service levels, operating cost, productivity, and safety
- Develop and manage regional operating budgets and forecasts
- Improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve asset utilization
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure OSHA, DOT, regulatory, and company safety compliance
- Conduct safety reviews and operational audits
- Ensure high service levels, product availability, order accuracy, and reliable delivery performance
- Support major projects, strategic accounts, and customer service commitments
- Resolve escalated operational issues affecting customers
- Oversee regional inventory strategy and improve forecasting, fill rates, demand planning, inventory accuracy, and warehouse/logistics processes
- Recruit, develop, and retain Branch Managers and operational leaders
- Drive performance management, leadership development, and succession planning
- Lead operational improvement initiatives focused on standardization, efficiency, and productivity
- Use operational data and KPIs to identify trends and drive improvements
- Share best practices across branches and support new systems, processes, and company initiatives
- Serve as the district’s ISO Management System owner, maintain certification readiness, coordinate audits, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvement and compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent leadership experience)
- 5–7 years of progressive operations leadership experience
- Experience preferably in electrical distribution, industrial distribution, wholesale distribution, or logistics environments
- Demonstrated experience directing multi-location operations or regional branch networks
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets and performance metrics
- Proven ability to develop leaders and build high-performing teams
- Valid driver’s license required
- Preferred experience in electrical distribution, construction supply, or industrial/MRO distribution
- Preferred Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training
- Preferred experience with ERP, WMS, or distribution management systems
- Preferred experience directing operations during growth, acquisition integration, or transformation
- Preferred experience in ISO-compliant environments, including documented standards, audit readiness, and continuous improvement processes
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region (approximately 40–60%)
- Ability to visit warehouse and branch environments requiring appropriate PPE
- Ability to occasionally lift, stand, or walk in warehouse environments
- May be required to work more than 40 hours per week
