About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the day-to-day operations and operational performance of the branch
  • Ensure efficient operations, strong customer service, and effective execution of inside sales
  • Oversee warehouse operations, delivery logistics, and inside sales teams
  • Partner with regional and outside sales organizations to support customer growth and account development
  • Drive profitable sales growth through strategic planning and execution
  • Oversee inside sales strategy, pricing, and customer support
  • Build and maintain relationships with electrical contractors, industrial customers, OEMs, suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure exceptional service
  • Provide market and customer insights for the annual business plan
  • Establish business reviews with supplier partners and align on product launches and promotions
  • Partner with the Pricing Team to achieve market competitiveness, margin, and profit goals
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop branch staff across inside sales, counter sales, warehouse, and delivery
  • Conduct performance evaluations and pay recommendations
  • Ensure positions are staffed by qualified and trained personnel
  • Manage branch purchasing, pricing, quotations, contract review, warehouse activities, and related functions
  • Analyze training needs and implement plans to close gaps
  • Collaborate on product promotions, training, inventory strategy, and purchasing
  • Ensure appropriate stock levels of core electrical distribution products
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
  • Assist with corporate audits and safeguard company assets and records
  • Install and execute Crescent’s Business System standard processes at the branch
  • Serve as ISO Management System owner, maintaining certification readiness, coordinating audits, driving corrective actions, and fostering continuous improvement
  • Provide backup support for branch drivers and counter service during peak periods or staffing gaps
  • Partner with Real Estate on facility repairs, maintenance, and safety issues
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Accounting, and Finance on inventory, vendor, credit, billing, and payment issues
  • Manage branch budget, revenue targets, margins, operating expenses, and profitability
  • Develop annual business plans, budgets, and sales forecasts
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to pricing strategy, credit policies, and cash management procedures
  • Attend branch/company meetings and events; overnight travel may be necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, or related field preferred—but equivalent industry experience is highly valued
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical wholesale distribution or related industry
  • Prior leadership or branch management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working within ISO-compliant environments, including adherence to documented standards, audit readiness, and continuous improvement processes
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability obtain and maintain forklift certification
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Certificate may be required in some locations
  • Occasional standing required
  • Often walking and sitting, use of hands/fingers, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Often lifting up to 50 lbs. is required
  • Ability to travel, visit customer sites, travel through assigned territory, and attend company and vendor activities and events requiring overnight stay
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week
