About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a point of contact for review and legal research involving customer purchase orders, customer contracts, vendor contracts, and other agreements
  • Apply knowledge of contract law to assess compliance with company standard terms and conditions of sales and quotations
  • Draft correspondence, participate in contract negotiations, and address questions about contract contents
  • Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Supplier Management, Senior Management, outside attorneys, and other stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Oversee agreements through final signature
  • Renew and maintain business entity filings, annual permits, business licenses, and Secretary of State filings
  • Provide backup for recording shareholder stock transactions and distributions
  • Gather information and prepare spreadsheets for annual business insurance renewal and enterprise risk management
  • Work with legal counsel to provide documentation for litigation, mediation, arbitration, and complaint responses
  • Attend department and company meetings and events as required
  • Maintain awareness of evolving AI technologies and explore improvements to efficiency, insights, and business performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal certification; other appropriate educational background and experience will be considered
  • 2+ years of experience supporting the contract review function
  • Knowledge of contract law, research, and experience negotiating and reviewing contracts is preferred
  • Strong legal research and investigation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Copilot
  • Ability to utilize AI-enabled tools
  • Proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to think logically and analytically
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to take initiative and make continuous process improvements
  • Experience working within a commercial, for-profit company is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel less than 5% of the time, with occasional overnight stays
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week
