About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain accurate client books and accounting records in QuickBooks, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review trial balances, post adjusting journal entries, and support month-end and year-end accounting procedures
- Review financial information and analyze account activity to identify discrepancies, unusual items, and opportunities for correction
- Prepare and assist with payroll tax filings and related accounting compliance requirements
- Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve accounting matters
- Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation
- Manage assigned responsibilities independently, meet deadlines, and learn new accounting, tax, and office software as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience using QuickBooks
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations, trial balances, and adjusting journal entries
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll-related accounting, and associated filing requirements
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional client service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and effectively use new software and technology
