About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and ongoing management of CFC's external reporting capability
- Establish the operating model, governance framework, controls and reporting processes for accurate and compliant financial reporting
- Own CFC's external financial reporting and Group consolidation activities
- Lead preparation and delivery of statutory accounts and external reporting outputs
- Establish and embed governance structures, reporting processes, controls, ownership models and review mechanisms
- Lead Group consolidation across a complex, multi-entity organisation
- Design and implement reporting timetables, governance forums and review structures
- Own and maintain the Group Accounting Manual
- Monitor developments in IFRS and broader accounting requirements and translate them into practical guidance
- Act as key contact for external auditors and advisers on technical accounting, reporting requirements and consolidation
- Embed strong governance, reporting disciplines and consistent accounting practices across the Group
- Lead and develop the External Reporting team
- Foster technical excellence, continuous improvement and high performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Significant experience leading external financial reporting and group consolidation within complex, multi-entity organisations
- Direct experience from a UK listed company environment
- Proven track record of preparing Annual Report & Accounts and delivering high-quality external reporting outputs
- Experience operating at Senior Manager, Head of or equivalent level
- Deep understanding of IFRS and external reporting requirements
- Advanced technical accounting and consolidation expertise
- Experience managing complex group structures, intercompany accounting and consolidation processes
- Ability to interpret complex accounting guidance and translate it into practical business solutions
- Track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with auditors, advisers and senior stakeholders
