About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides basic care to patients under the direct supervision of the office physician.
  • Ensures optimal patient care by adhering to Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintains patient records and documents, including computer systems as necessary.
  • Intakes histories/chief complaints and prepares patients for examination.
  • Assists Ophthalmology Technicians in preparing patients for procedures.
  • Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
  • Uses proper sterile/aseptic technique when assisting in applicable departments.
  • Supports an environment conducive to professional practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • H.S. Diploma required.
  • Must have JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 18 months of hire date.
  • Monday - Friday, Days.
  • 36 scheduled weekly hours.
