About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the data catalog as a product, including domain onboarding, metadata and documentation standards, data quality signals, and search and discovery for internal builders and AI agents
Run the AI-ready domain program, including the assessment bar, migration sequence, and dated plan for making product domains consumable by AI agents
Sequence catalog population according to consumption demand
Partner with the canonical data model owner to ensure catalog entries conform to entity definitions
Publish per-domain readiness status and distinguish assessed from ready states
Own context and signal surfaces used by AI agents, including standards for permissible signals
Collaborate with legal and security on data classification, consent boundaries, and AI agent consumption requirements
Complete leading-domain catalog onboarding with documented quality signals within the first 180 days
Publish a readiness scoreboard showing each domain's state, blocker, and date
Establish a self-service domain onboarding playbook
Deliver the first dated batch of domain migrations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Alignment with BambooHR values
5+ years of product management experience in data platforms, data infrastructure, developer tools, or adjacent technical products
Technical depth in metadata, data contracts, or data quality
Ability to read schemas and challenge readiness claims
Experience running multi-team migrations with scoreboards, dates, and named owners
Proven ability to drive alignment across teams without direct authority
Ability to drive readiness work in domain teams without owning their roadmap
Ability to maintain quality standards under delivery pressure
Ability to build for human builders and AI agents
Ability to explain readiness decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
Self-directed and entrepreneurial approach
Experience with data catalogs, governance tooling, or master data management
Exposure to AI and large language model (LLM) feature development
Product experience with graph or relationship-querying capabilities
Must pass background and credit checks
Must be eligible to work in Utah
