About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the integration-category roadmap and build, co-build, or aggregate decisions
  • Co-own category-level revenue assumptions with the VP of Partnerships
  • Own the public API and SDK roadmap
  • Run the developer portal as a product, including registration, authentication, app management, integration patterns, and documentation
  • Own BambooHR’s presence in AI assistant ecosystems and marketplaces, including MCP-based connector strategy
  • Manage vendor submission, review, and third-party marketplace approval processes
  • Set API-first standards and own review paths for new public capabilities
  • Collaborate with security and identity teams on third-party and AI-agent authorization
  • Guide product managers building partner integrations
  • Measure developer adoption, time to first integration, category coverage, and influenced revenue
  • Set patterns for partner integration product managers and serve as product voice in API and protocol decisions
  • Work with senior engineers and architects on API and protocol decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in product management on developer platforms, public APIs, or partner ecosystems
  • Experience where partner-sourced revenue was a company-level commitment
  • Experience making and defending build-versus-partner-versus-aggregate economics calls
  • Ability to hold a roadmap accountable to a revenue plan shared with a commercial organization
  • Technical depth in API design and authentication patterns
  • Ability to read specifications and evaluate endpoint design, versioning, scoping, and deprecation
  • Comfort building on evolving open protocols
  • Documentation, onboarding, and support product experience
  • Ability to set standards and drive alignment across teams without direct authority
  • Credibility with senior engineers and architects
  • Clear communication with technical and commercial audiences, including executive review
  • AI used in day-to-day work for prototyping and critical thinking
  • Alignment with BambooHR values
  • Experience with AI agent protocols such as MCP or third-party marketplaces
  • Experience in SaaS partner or marketplace ecosystem product management
  • Familiarity with fine-grained authorization models
  • Experience mentoring product managers as a senior individual contributor
