About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and support all Chainguardians.
  • Manage and troubleshoot various IT systems.
  • Provide empathetic, detailed, and prompt technical support to employees.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with security practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Prioritize excellent customer service with quick responses and accurate feedback on technical problems.
  • Provide on-site support for the London office by maintaining the network, A/V, and IT assets.
  • Work with vendors to order, manage, and ship hardware worldwide; serve as the local point of contact for London-based vendors.
  • Manage employee onboarding with tools, systems, and hardware in collaboration with HR/Recruiting.
  • Handle IT requests through the ticketing system, email, or Slack; assess severity, troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate computer-related problems.
  • Provide on-call support, including some holidays.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in IT Support, ideally at a remote or startup environment.
  • Experience with MacOS and Linux.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM).
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting with Neat Hardware.
  • Strong understanding of IT Security best practices and a desire to improve them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Some travel required.
  • Ability to be in the London office 2 days a week (near Farringdon station), with availability to come in daily if ever needed.
  • Proactively self-motivated and self-starter, comfortable taking action independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong ability to cycle between working independently and in a team environment.
  • Motivated and eager to participate in growing and changing environments, often wearing many hats.
  • Eagerness to grow and build a company solving an important problem.
