About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare quotes, proposals, and Statements of Work
- Translate client requirements and internal scientific, operational, and commercial input into accurate study documents
- Support model selection and development of preclinical and translational study designs using company databases and scientific resources
- Consolidate model information, scientific data, feasibility assessments, timelines, pricing, and other materials
- Work with Medical Affairs, R&D, laboratory teams, Project Management, and Operations to address technical questions
- Prepare scientific summaries, datasets, presentations, and internal and client-facing materials
- Support client meeting preparation and participate in scientific or project-specific discussions
- Conduct scientifically tailored lead generation and pipeline research across Europe and Asia
- Identify and qualify prospective biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients and refer opportunities to the responsible Business Development lead
- Support account research, conference preparation, and follow-up activities
- Maintain account, activity, and opportunity information in the CRM system
- Support pipeline reviews, reporting, forecasting, and improvement of Business Development resources and processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related biomedical or life sciences discipline
- PhD or equivalent scientific training is preferred
- Strong scientific foundation in oncology, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, genetics, or a related discipline
- Understanding of oncology drug discovery and the preclinical and translational drug development process
- Understanding of in vivo, ex vivo, biomarker, and other translational research platforms
- Ability to translate complex scientific requests into structured study concepts and clear commercial materials
- Excellent verbal, written, and scientific communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and workstreams
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions, geographies, and time zones
- Professional fluency in English is required
- Additional European or Asian language skills are an advantage
- Relevant experience in academic research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical drug development, a CRO, or another preclinical or translational research environment
- Previous business development, project management, technical sales, or customer-facing experience is beneficial but not required
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer in a typical remote office environment
