About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a resource on regulatory matters regarding product and policy changes
- Support preparation of policy briefs, reports, and presentations
- Collaborate to prepare and organize forums and gatherings with stakeholders
- Help ensure the organization's interests are represented and protected in legislative and regulatory proceedings and market rules and procedures
- Maintain databases and track regulatory changes
- Represent the organization in assigned external business meetings
- Develop and maintain policies and programs regarding government legislation and regulatory issues
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues
- Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure legal compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in law
- Current license to practice law
- Experience in a transport and logistics industry is an asset
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a public affairs (SAT/Tax Experience)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding managerial and negotiation skills
