About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and manage cloud networks (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, peering) across GCP, Azure and AWS
  • Set up and maintain secure connections between cloud environments, data centres, offices and terminals using site-to-site VPN, Cloud Interconnect, ExpressRoute or Direct Connect
  • Manage cloud load balancers, DNS, NAT and network gateways for production services
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, security groups and network policies
  • Support networking for the Kubernetes platform, including ingress, network policies and service-to-service traffic
  • Build and manage network infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot latency and connectivity issues, and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Support zero-trust and secure remote access tools such as Zscaler, Cloudflare or Palo Alto Prisma
  • Document network designs and maintain diagrams and runbooks
  • Plan capacity, high availability and disaster recovery, and help manage cloud networking costs
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, SRE, security and development teams in Canada

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6–8 years in network engineering, including at least 2–3 years with cloud networking
  • Hands-on experience with networking on at least one major cloud (GCP, Azure or AWS); more than one is a plus
  • Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, routing (BGP, OSPF), DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN and load balancing
  • Experience with hybrid connectivity between on-premises sites and the cloud
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco or cloud-native firewalls)
  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform or similar
  • Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark, traceroute and cloud flow logs
  • Kubernetes networking (CNI, ingress controllers, service mesh) — nice to have
  • SD-WAN experience (Cisco, Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud or similar) — nice to have
  • Zero-trust or SASE tools: Zscaler, Cloudflare, Netskope or Prisma Access — nice to have
  • Certifications such as CCNP, Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) — nice to have
  • Experience in logistics, transportation or another 24/7 operations environment — nice to have
