About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise the international business on day-to-day legal matters, legal risks and regulatory compliance
- Support global direct and indirect procurement teams and commercial retail teams across EMEA, APAC and Travel Retail, excluding China
- Support new market expansion
- Draft, negotiate and review retail, franchise, distribution, store design, lease, supply chain, professional services, logistics, facilities, visual merchandise, IT, digital and other commercial contracts
- Develop and enhance legal working processes with business stakeholders
- Assist with legal procedures and policies supporting compliance with applicable laws
- Support legal proceedings and work with outside counsel when required
- Prepare and conduct legal training for staff
- Assist other business areas and the legal team on a broad range of legal matters
- Report directly to a Senior Legal Counsel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified Solicitor – England and Wales (1-2 years’ PQE)
- Solid training and qualifications from a leading national or international law firm or reputable business
- Experience advising on multi-jurisdictional issues is highly desirable
- Experience working for a global brand is highly desirable
- Accurate, clear and concise written and oral communication
- Presentation skills
- Ability to organise and coordinate workload and priorities
- Ability to draft and negotiate contracts and legal documents
- Effective legal research skills
- Commercial mindset and sound judgment
- Structured analysis and interpretation of legal and non-legal information
- Understanding of beauty/retail markets
- Awareness of other cultures, jurisdictions and business approaches
- Ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment
- English and Wales solicitor qualification
