About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end delivery of large, complex cross-functional projects from business case through close-out and retrospective
  • Lead project management for large-scale, time-critical mobilizations and maintain a scalable mobilization playbook
  • Lead complex client-facing project and event launches, then transition ongoing execution to the account manager
  • Build and refine PMO standards, including project charters, status reports, risk and issue logs, governance cadences, and intake processes
  • Develop business cases and project charters defining scope, success metrics, resourcing, and timelines
  • Hold cross-functional partners accountable for deliverables and deadlines
  • Lead change management, drive adoption, and manage resistance
  • Plan and manage schedules, dependencies, critical paths, and resourcing conflicts across concurrent projects
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Lead project meetings, working sessions, executive steering committees, and cross-functional workstreams
  • Maintain project ledgers, trackers, RAID logs, and RACI charts; brief leadership as needed
  • Track project budgets and flag variances
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and Agile principles to improve project delivery
  • Create SOPs, guides, and training materials
  • Help shape the long-term PMO roadmap and operating model
  • Partner across Enterprise Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, and client-facing teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience
  • Experience standing up new programs, processes, or systems in ambiguous or undefined environments
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects spanning technology/systems implementations, client-facing initiatives, and internal process or operational change
  • Experience leading or contributing to large-scale client-facing program launches or time-critical, high-stakes mobilizations
  • Experience leading change management for process or system transitions
  • Experience writing funded and delivered business cases and project charters
  • Track record of holding stakeholders accountable and driving outcomes without formal authority
  • Strong meeting facilitation and executive communication skills
  • Working knowledge of risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Experience managing or tracking project budgets and reporting variances
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience building SOPs, process documentation, or training materials
  • Bias for action and comfort making progress with incomplete information
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile/Scrum certification preferred
  • Experience in a high-growth technology, marketplace, logistics, or transportation environment is a plus
  • Must reside in one of CharterUP's approved U.S. states
