About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide operational advisory on high-risk clients during onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events
- Deliver justified opinions and recommendations
- Investigate alerts reported to Compliance
- Draft STRs and ensure the riskiest clients are monitored appropriately
- Develop and update the local compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and operating memos
- Provide timely and precise advice to internal teams on procedural applications
- Contribute to AML-CTF risk classification updates and assessment of new products and activities
- Contribute to external regulatory reports and internal reports for Senior Management
- Draft training materials and presentations and run training sessions
- Perform regulatory watch and gap analysis between applicable regulations, sanctions, and the current framework
- Propose compliance framework enhancements
- Serve or participate as a subject matter expert in Group and APAC Compliance projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Compliance function in the banking or payments space
- Prior experience in Compliance Advisory is ideal; alternatively, 2LoD operations experience with exposure to investigations and audit handling is preferred
- Robust knowledge of Financial Security topics, including KYC, AML/CFT, and Sanctions
- Knowledge of Compliance topics including the Payments Services Act and Scheme Rules
- Previous project management experience on Compliance framework setups
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, see the bigger picture, challenge the current status quo, and define scalable and sustainable processes
- Ability to prioritize quickly and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong collaborative qualities and ability to work as a team player
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay current with the payments industry and regulations
- Strong spoken and written English
- Willingness to work in the office 3 days per week
- Legally authorized to work as an employee in the country of application
